- Relatives and associates
- Court, arrest and other public records in paid reports
How to opt out of TruthFinder
- 1
Go to the PeopleConnect Suppression Center at https://suppression.peopleconnect.us/login, enter your email address, accept the terms and click the verification link that arrives in your inbox.
- 2
Build your identity profile. The tool needs your name, your date of birth and at least one phone number or email address that appears in your report. Past names, addresses and other numbers help it find more matches but are optional.
- 3
Enter your date of birth carefully: the tool needs it to find matching reports, and you cannot change it once saved.
- 4
Verify at least one phone number (by text code) or email address (by emailed code) that appears in your background report; a report only counts as a verified match if it contains something you verified.
- 5
Open the list of verified matches, set each report that is yours to "Suppressed" and click Save.
- 6
If your report shows up only under unverified matches, verify more of the phones or emails it lists, or email privacy@peopleconnect.us and ask them to check your identity another way.
One suppression in the PeopleConnect Suppression Center applies to name searches on all PeopleConnect people search sites, which PeopleConnect names as TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate, Intelius and US Search; it does not cover Classmates.com.
Not just TruthFinder
We find your listings on dozens of sites and remove them for you.
Tips
- If a report doesn't show up as a verified match, add and verify another phone number or email from that report that you can still receive messages on.
- Don't delete your Suppression Center account afterwards: PeopleConnect says that deleting your user data also deletes your suppressions.
- Suppression covers name searches; your details can still appear in reverse phone, address or email lookups, so check those too.
Questions about TruthFinder
Is it free to remove myself from TruthFinder?
Yes. PeopleConnect says its Suppression Tool is free, and you don't need a paid account.
Why does TruthFinder ask for my date of birth and phone number?
The Suppression Center uses your date of birth to find the right records and a code sent to a phone or email in your report to confirm the report is about you. PeopleConnect says it uses this information to verify your identity and find your records, and does not sell or share it with third parties for marketing.
Will suppressing my TruthFinder report also remove me from TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate, Intelius and US Search?
Yes. One suppression applies to name searches on all PeopleConnect people search sites. It does not cover Classmates.com, and your details can still appear in reverse phone, address or email lookups.
